WATER COLOR AND FOUND POETRY BOOKMARKS :
A WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST ADRIANA MARTINEZ
VENUE: M. Lovewell
ABOUT WATER COLOR AND FOUND POETRY BOOKMARKS:
This workshop is broken into two processes. First, participants will be experimenting with different watercolor techniques on bookmark sized watercolor paper. Secondly, participants will use cut out words and glue the words onto their bookmarks to create found poetry. The watercolor techniques explored are created to teach new and seasoned artist ways to better control the medium. These techniques include using salt or alcohol to create an effect, using a wax crayon or tape to act as a resist, lifting techniques, and other ways of controlling and playing with the medium. Once their bookmarks are dry they can cut out words from magazines to create found poetry. To finish it off we can punch a hole on the top of the bookmark for ribbon or yarn.
